JoeyPinkney.com Exclusive Interview
5 Minutes, 5 Questions With…
Annie Brown, author of Who I Be
“Who I Be” is about finding acceptance of who God created you to be and not try to conform to society’s norms of what is considered acceptable. With finding acceptance of who you are, you learn to love yourself.
Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “Who I Be”?
Annie Brown: The inspiration to write “Who I Be” was given to me from an innate desire from God to see those who struggle with not measuring up to society’s standard learn to love themselves for who they are.
JP: What sets “Who I Be” apart from other books in the same genre?
ACB: I not only write from my own personal experiences but as a master-level social worker and licensed minister. I believe that every individual has self-worth. Therefore, it is my mission to help those who are willing to learn become all they can be, thereby fulfilling their purpose in life.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “Who I Be” getting out to the public?
ACB: So far, I have been using social media to get the word out about my book. Since I work a full time job, I really do not have the time I need to promote as needed. I have decided to invest in marketers like you to help with the process of getting the word to the public.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish “Who I Be”?
ACB: My process is to receive inspiration and research the subject matter. Then I write accordingly.
It took me approximately six months to finish “Who I Be”. I did not want the book to have lots of excess wording.
JP: What’s next for Annie Brown?
ACB: I am currently working on a couple of books. One will not be completed for a long period of time. It is about experiences with patients as I work with the terminally ill. The other book will hopefully be near completion by this summer.
