“BREATHE” takes place in a Dystopian future not too far away. Adaleigh, the heiress to the kingdom of Texas, copes with Mega Storms and supernatural powers, yearning to run away to the isles of California.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write BREATHE?

Amethyst Raylin: Just living in Texas and seeing how hot it’s getting lately and the crazy tornados that happened last April. That one that wiped out Joplin was unbelievable. I guess I kinda draw my inspiration from current events and the panic that’s being tossed around with 2012 coming up next year.

JP: What sets BREATHE apart from other books in the same genre?

A. R.: I’d like to think that you get a real good look into the characters lives, and you either love them or hate them. Besides that, I think some of the twists and turns I have up my sleeve is going to knock some readers for a loop.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to BREATHE getting out to the public?

A. R.: Writing constantly. Find writing partners and honestly, working in the clouds with some pros from Silverlake eBooks is amazing. We all work on the same document simultaneously in real time in the clouds. Okay, so it’s cloud computing and as simple as working on a google doc and sharing it.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish BREATHE?

A. R.: I like when it’s very quiet outside and i like to play music sometimes and let the story come to me. I wrote this book in the clouds in one months time. Then we edited it and did some other work with the cover and it’s taken about 2 months to get this book finished.

JP: What’s next for Amethyst Raylin?

A. R.: This is only Book One in the Fated Series. I am not currently working on book two in the Fated series.
