(Art Official Media LLC)

One Hundred Miles and Running is the sequel to my debut novel Blackface. The book follows Face and Jazz. Face is on the run for a crime he committed and he snatches Jazz for the journey.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write One Hundred Miles and Running (Blackface 2)?

Q.B. Wells: The book was a sequel and I needed to finish the narrative that began in the first book Blackface.

JP: What sets One Hundred Miles and Running (Blackface 2) apart from other books in the same genre?

Q.B. Wells: The book is gritty and well-written. At the same time, the book is at times humorous and leaves the reader emotional. I think what sets it apart from others in the genre is mix of violence and humor.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to One Hundred Miles and Running (Blackface 2) getting out to the public?

Q.B. Wells: A great book and solid marketing. Even a great book won’t sell much without proper marketing and publicity. So, I’ll be a lot of places with AOM books. Check us out online and in person!

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish One Hundred Miles and Running (Blackface 2)?

Q.B. Wells: I think the process has become more simple over time. I outline every book and follow the outline of the chapters. It usually takes about 30-45 days of writing and revising to finish a manuscript.

JP: What’s next for Q.B. Wells?

Q.B. Wells: Book tours and publicity online. I’m taking the books to the public to meet readers and continue building the brand. I’ll also be releasing more a few clips to promote the titles more.

  1. I read Blackface, it was very good. Being from Chicago, the book really resonated with me. I look forward to reading what journey Face and Jazz encounter . Looking forward to see what emotions this book invokes. The triggering of emotions in my opinion is the key to excellent writing. Emotions are what allows us to feel alive and when an author successfully And intentionally invokes emotions, that author can take us anywhere via his or her words. That’s powerful.

    1. I think QB is hitting his stride with writing. He’s been in the for a while with his various literary venture. He is definitely a person I look up to. Thank you for your comment. Please, do stop by and comment whenever you like.
