Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Salty: A Ghetto Soap Opera?

Aleta L Willims: My inspiration came from me wanting to be a mentor to young adults in the urban community. I wanted to be able to pen a tale that they can relate to and hopefully learn and be inspired. Basically, letting my readers know your past don’t have to be your future.

JP: What sets Salty: A Ghetto Soap Opera apart from other books in the same genre?

ALW: I write to entertain and inspire. The book is filled with true2life drama. Almost all can relate. And I’m sure “all” will be entertained and inspired.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Salty: A Ghetto Soap Opera getting out to the public?

ALW: Believing in self, and being determined to reach my goal.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Salty: A Ghetto Soap Opera?

ALW: I write when I feel it: “Inspiration”. From there, I don’t put my pen down until I’m done! It took me two months to write Salty.

JP: What’s next for Aleta L Williams?

ALW: Opening a center to mentor to young adults in an urban community and writing more true2life street tales.
