Get ready for book one in the Mark Appleton Hard-Boiled Thriller series, from Bestselling thriller writer Aaron Patterson.

The WJA series is a cross genre series and may bend or break many rules. If you are set in the traditional ways of storytelling this may not be the series for you. Please use caution and only read if you are of an open mind, and crave something off the map and mind-bending.

Mark Appleton is living the American Dream. Beautiful wife, loving daughter, and a high paying job in New York City. But when his family is killed in a accident, he must reinvent himself.

A year later in the midst of putting his life back together, Mark finds out that his family was killed. And it was no accident.. Mark will stop at nothing to hunt down the men responsible for the death of his family. What he finds will change his life forever.

Kirk Weston is a Detroit detective. He hates his job, his ex-wife, and his life. He is hand selected to help the FBI on a high profile case. Just when he thinks things could not get any worse… They do.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Sweet Dreams?

Aaron Patterson: A Dream. I thought it would be cool to have just a normal guy end up as a contract killer. And there you go!

JP: What sets Sweet Dreams apart from other books in the same genre?

AP: My books are cross genre. I get some great reviews because of this and some really bad ones. It starts off more mystery/thriller and ends up paranormal thriller by book three. (In Your Dreams)

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Sweet Dreams getting out to the public?

AP: Social media, understanding how Amazon works and being nice… I know, so many authors are not nice!

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Sweet Dreams?

AP: 30-90 days per book. I try to write a chapter every time I sit down. The editing takes longer so in all about a year for the book to hit the market. I am a fast writer, about 2000 words an hour.

JP: What’s next for Aaron Patterson?

AP: I have a new book, Airel, it is a Young Adult Paranormal Romance series. Michael, Book 2 in that series will release May 17th! As to my thrillers, I am starting a new series and you will see that first book called Breaking Steele by summer.
