Rukyyah, author of Bywater’s Finest

Bywater’s Finest is a hood story about four friends who are ride or die for each other. As they take becoming wealthy into their own hands, Nay, Kia, Ladybug, and Missy, aka Bywater’s Finest, discovers that when you grow up in the hood, you have to work twice as hard to get things that you badly desire.
When it comes to money, these girls will do anything to make it happen. Beefing with other girls and dealing with haters are an everyday lifestyle in the hood, but Bywater’s Finest will not be stopped while they travel the road to riches. After working with KeKey, a local female hustler, they make big-time money.
They have flashy cars and the latest fashions. More importantly, they have hood creditably. Will these girls let betrayal, deception, money? Or men come between them? Or will their bond stay strong throughout it all?
Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Bywater’s Finest?
Rukyyah: Bywater’s Finest is really close to my life story. Even though it’s fiction, it’s relatable to every girl from the hood.
JP: What sets Bywater’s Finest apart from other books in the same genre?
RW: Bywater’s Finest is realistic, it’s sexy, and it’s street. It has something for every genre mixed into one, and it’s a great recipe for a page turner.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Bywater’s Finest getting out to the public?
RW: The key is to never give up. Writing the book is easy; promoting is hard work.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Bywater’s Finest?
RW: Bywater’s Finest took me about two to three months to write. When I’m inspired, I just write until it comes together.
JP: What’s next for Rukyyah?
RW: Big Girls Need Love just released on eBooks. Big Girls Need Love, Too will available soon. Hustling Vixens will be out later this year. It’s the spin-off of Bywater’s Finest.
