Shenee’ Edwards, author of The Miniseries of Me: Fictional Short Stories Based on the Life of Shenee’ Edwards
(Palmetto Publishing Group)

Based on the author’s life experiences, The Miniseries of Me is a poignant collection of short stories that deals with some of life’s most difficult circumstances. Ranging from child molestation and rape to divorce and adultery, the topics covered in this collection are emotion-provoking and sadly common.

Each story has a spiritual tone and encourages readers to take a look at the type of person they are, as well as take in all the wonders life has to offer. The Miniseries of Me brings to life a variety of characters; readers are sure to relate to one or more of them (or know someone who could).

Beneath the collection’s words is the truth of humanity’s ultimate goal of serving God. With each story’s conclusion, the message becomes clear: God is Love, and everything we go through is a test or a step to success in His vision.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write The Miniseries of Me: Fictional Short Stories Based on the Life of Shenee’ Edwards?

Shenee’ Edwards: I always had a passion for writing. However, I knew with all that I have been through, that it was finally time to share some of my experiences. What better way to do so than through my passion.

JP: What sets The Miniseries of Me apart from other books in the same genre?

SE: What sets The Miniseries of Me apart is, although I am sharing “my story,” it is fictional. It also touches on a male’s point of view when it comes to friendship and love. Most present my book as a women’s book until they realize that some of the stories are for men as well.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that lead to The Miniseries of Me getting out to the public?

SE: The keys to my success is the power of social media. We all know social media is a powerful tool in anything we do in society today. It was also imperative that I get a good publicist as well as a promoter.

Word on the street, attending conferences, accepting interviews and even getting my book into the hands of many people is crucial to getting my book out to the public. I also ensure that I am surrounded by a good support team.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish The Miniseries of Me?

SE: I literally had to pray about the direction I wanted to go. In sharing some of my stories, I wanted to share them in a way that the readers could picture each incident happening. It took me just a few weeks to finish The Miniseries of Me.

JP: What’s next for Shenee’ Edwards?

SE: To be honest, wherever God takes me. I have learned that a lot of things on my “to do” list have been altered. I would love to do more conferences and use those platforms to share my story, but again, God’s plan is so much better than mines!
