(Journey Publications)
Alexis “Jazzy†Preston is a small town girl with big city dreams. Leaving her fiancé and parents behind, she moves to Atlanta in hopes of starting over. After landing a nursing job and meeting a new love interest, Jazzy’s past comes back to haunt her.
Finding herself at a crossroads when she joins her cousin’s biker club only to learn that the nickname “Hotlanta†is more than a reputation—it’s a way of life. Will Jazzy’s new life be everything she expected? Or will she regret her decision to leave South Carolina forever? Readers are invited to take an exhilarating literary ride, as power, jealousy, and love collide in Biker Club, the breathtaking novel by Kenny Blue.
Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the idea and inspiration to write Biker Club?
Kenny Blue: I was pumping gas one day at a QT in Lithonia, an Atlanta suburb. These biker chicks come rolling up with these colorful vests looking all fly, and everybody at the gas station is like “Whoa.†They parked in perfect formation, stepped off their bikes, took off their helmets, and walked inside with this attitude and swagger that was like “Ya’ll better respect this.â€
I was speechless, and I think everybody else was too. That’s when I knew that’s what my next book was going to be about. I started researching on the Internet, contacted a few female biker clubs, and the rest is history.
JP: What sets Biker Club apart from other novels in its genre?
KB: To my knowledge, there has never been a novel written about female bikers. When I decided to move forward with this project, I knew it would be research-intensive. It was a challenge, because today’s readers like fast-paced stories that jump from page one.
I wanted to develop my characters with enough depth that readers would feel intimately attached to them, even the minor ones. So the story, the scenery and the action all received equal treatment. That ultimately gave this book extra flavor, like a delicious bowl of gumbo.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that lead to Biker Club getting out to the public?
KB: Having a business plan was absolutely essential, as well as an established web presence. When I released The Beach House in 2005, there was no such thing as MySpace, Facebook, or Kindle. Self-publishers have real opportunities to succeed in today’s publishing world because of the emerging e-revolution. Without a business plan or the willingness to invest in my dream, I would still be sending query letters out for rejection.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take for you to start and finish Biker Club?
KB: My writing process starts off pretty structured before I allow my creative side to take over. I took notes as I researched, developed a skeleton of my storyline and sketched out the characteristics of my main characters.
As I began to write, my original storyline began to evolve into something completely different. I just prayed to God to allow it to be beautiful and to reflect the amazing lifestyle that bikers live, while at the same time reflecting life issues that affect us all. The entire process took three years.
JP: What’s next for Kenny Blue?
KB: I’m promoting Biker Club right now, but the next move is to write a screenplay. I hope to have that done by the spring, so I can bring Biker Club to movie theatres in the near future. I want to ghostwrite as well. I have several new titles that are ready to be written.

Living in GA, I, also, have stopped to watch the bikers; and it’s even better when it’s all women. I wonder what made them dare to read.
Biker Club is something I would read out of curiosity.
Very interesting subject…didn’t know it was a culture of it’s own.
