Madhuri ‘Maddie’ Singh has always believed in both her Indian heritage and her talents as a journalist. Australian-raised, she still sees an arranged marriage as her future.

But then her past rears it’s incredibly attractive head in the form of Jack Faulkner at the very moment her parents find her the perfect prospective husband. Maddie believes it a simple clash of culture versus passion, but there’s more to the story and it will threaten everything she holds dear.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Arranged to Love?

Elizabeth Dunk: I worked as a journalist, so I always wanted to write a story about two journalists. My first job was at the newspaper in Nowra, so it became the fictionalised setting of “Arranged to Love”. Continue reading 5 Minutes, 5 Questions With… Elizabeth Dunk, author of Arranged to Love

Tony is young good-looking and successful, the ultimate ladies’ man. Everything about him, from his clothes to his apartment, is designed to be a trap for the women who catch his eye. Tony has no immediate plans except to advance his career and continue with his playboy ways. Then one day he meets Olivia, a beautiful plus-size executive, and he sees a way he can do both.

Olivia is new in town, but not certainly not new to the ways of the player. She knows that no man can treat her the way she deserves so she doesn’t even try to find one. As far as she’s concerned, life is just fine without an encumbrance like a boyfriend or husband.

When she meets Tony, she sees him for exactly what he is, a playboy looking for a good time. She’s wise to his playboy ways but still, she wouldn’t mind spending a little time with him.

Tony and Olivia get together, each with their own agenda. Then, against all odds, something happens that changes them both…

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “Green Eyes and Good Hair”?

Hugh O. Smith: I have friends that remind me of both the male and female main characters, and I wondered what would happen if they got together. Also, I wanted to write about what happens when we get to that stage where we stop fooling ourselves about needing someone in our lives. It’s tough to open ourselves up to love and all the potential hurt and heartbreak that can bring. Continue reading 5 Minutes, 5 Questions With… Hugh O. Smith, author of Green Eyes and Good Hair

“Put Up Or Get Shut Down” is a bold and sassy “up in your face” excursion into the urban motorcycle world. In this very exciting tale, you’ll meet Salty Dog. He’s a narcissistic brother with an ego big enough to match the horsepower of his chrome 1300 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle.

Throughout this epic journey, you’ll learn about the scandalous women who lurk around the urban motorcycle scene looking for a opportunity to get a “ride” in one way or another from the motorcycle brothers. You’ll also get a chance to see how Salty Dog squirms as he defends the races he wins and puts together.

You’ll have to either put up or get shut down trying to flee from this humorous urban tale.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “Put Up or Get Shut Down: An Urban Tale of the Motorcycle World As I Know It”?

Benita Tyler: My inspiration to write “Put Up Or Get Shut Down” comes from my husband’s alter ego “Salty Dog”, a narcissistic brother who’s no non-sense disposition really shakes things up in the urban motorcycle community.
