5 Minutes, 5 Questions With…
C.M. Jones, author of Nothing Is Too Hard For God
(HortonJones, Inc)

Nothing Is Too Hard For God is the sequel to the novella I Still Do, and these books outline the lives of three female best friends who have been through everything together since they were kids. Recently they have found themselves on different paths, some for the best and some for the worst.

Nothing Is Too Hard For God gives you all of the drama that, Deborah, the successful attorney who can’t stay out of trouble; Karen, the reluctant stay-at- home- mom; and Leslie, the child psychologist who thinks that her issues are beyond being fixed, experienced while getting their lives in line with the destiny that Jesus Christ has for them.

Nothing Is Too Hard For God inspires you to try Christ with a funny, dramatic and relatable story.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the idea and inspiration to write Nothing Is Too Hard For God?

C.M. Jones: When I began to write about these characters, I was going through a rough spot in a few areas in my life. I was still trusting God to bring me through it. I knew that He would because He is faithful.

I decided to write about characters with some really deep issues and show the readers that God could bring you out no matter what the circumstance.

JP: What sets Nothing Is Too Hard For God apart from other novels in its genre?

CMJ: Nothing Is Too Hard For God is different from many other books in the Genre of Christian Fiction because it has lots of drama. It’s funny, and it uplifts the Kingdom of God. This book will actually teach you how to pray even when you are feeling down.

Most importantly, it teaches you how to receive Salvation. The most appealing thing, however, is that it accomplishes this without projecting a “holier than thou” attitude.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that lead to Nothing Is Too Hard For God getting out to the public?

CMJ: The biggest keys to my success have been persistence, consistency and hard work, lots of hard work. Writing is not an easy business, but it is very rewarding, especially because this is ministry for me as well as business. That makes every long night, weekend and week worth every moment that I spend writing, editing, reading and re-reading.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take for you to start and finish Nothing Is Too Hard For God?

CMJ: My process simply starts with an idea. I get inspired from so many things. I have a very creative mind, so I can take almost anything and turn it into a story. Actually, all day long I am always thinking about my next story or a twist that I can add to whatever I am currently working on.

JP: What’s next for C.M. Jones?

CMJ: I am going to keep writing. My next book will be released in November of 2010. In addition, I am looking for an agent because I really would like to turn my books into plays/movies.

I usually think about my books as movies when I am writing them. To have those thoughts become a reality would be an absolute utopia for me.

  2. I like how she said it does not project a “holier than thou” attitude. I honestly thought that was a term coined in the Nigerian church and it was refreshing to read the same terminology here. Sounds like an interesting read.

  3. We can always trust that God will guide us in through the worse of times. It can seem otherwise but the truth is there are countless lessons for us to learn. I actually learned that theology is tied to philosophy. As relates to the interview, the way we perceived our relationship with God can have a lot to do with the outcome of events in our lives.

  6. I know this will be a good read and I know she has a hard time as a christian author because that genre does not have the audience as other books does I have really started to really read christian fiction.

  7. I absolutely enjoy your ministry with faith and God you can never go wrong. As I mentioned to you over on SORMAG I definitely have to read this book.
