Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Women What the Hell are You Thinking Now?
Cheryl Lacey Donovan: The inspiration for all my books ultimately comes from God. This is true for Women What the Hell are you Thinking Now.
Women often find themselves in compromising positions. Much of this is due to poor choices and poor decision making. I am a firm believer we teach people how to treat us. When we do a poor job of that, we suffer the consequences. So, how do we change this pattern? By looking at examples that work.
I have provided some of those examples in this book .
JP: What sets Women What the Hell are You Thinking Now apart from other books in the same genre?
CLD: My book is set apart from others because I use my own life experiences. I am transparent about the issues I’ve faced and the tools I’ve used to overcome them and find my life’s purpose. The situations are not unique but my responses to them may very be.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Women What the Hell are You Thinking Now getting out to the public?
CLD: Research. I have said it before but research is what sets you a part from the crowd. Knowing the difference between marketing and promotions, knowing your target audience, and being able to connect with them along with developing companion pieces that will create alternate streams of income for the author are all important. Research is what provides you with the invaluable lessons needed to conquer each of these areas.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Women What the Hell are You Thinking Now?
CLD: Wow! That’s really a hard question. Each book is different. But, when the motivation hits, I try to move with. Usually, I don’t stop until the book is done.
JP: What’s next for Cheryl Lacey Donovan?
CLD: Well, right now I am writing my next book No Test No Testimony which addresses how to cope when bad things happen to good people.
I am also creating devotionals and other resources such as DVD’s and CD’s. Some of the proceeds from my endeavors will go to Worth More than Rubies Kenya which is my ministry in Africa that is aiding the Kenyan people by providing resources for food, water, clothing, etc.
I’d like to that you, Joey, for this opportunity. I appreciate all you do for the publishing industry and the readers. Be blessed
