Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “Trust No One”?

Drica Armstrong: I got my inspiration to write “Trust No One” from a death in the family. The circumstances surrounding the death were so odd that I wanted to write a book loosely based off my experience.

After consulting with some family members I decided against writing the book. I looked through my catalog of story ideas and found that this novel was similar to the death of the relative. I changed the name of the novel to “Trust No One” in honor of my father’s memory.

JP: What sets “Trust No One” apart from other books in the same genre?

DA: What sets “Trust No One” apart from other books in my genre is that my characters will tug at your heart strings while keeping you captivated from beginning to end. You can easily place yourself into the lives of each character in my novel.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “Trust No One” getting out to the public?

DA: I believe the keys to my success is first knowing my target audience. Once I know who I want to market my book to, I start on the ground floor with extensive marketing and promotion. I try to use one-liners that will keep the readers attention.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish “Trust No One”?

DA: My writing is very relaxed. It could take me up to six to eight months to start and finish a book. It took me about six months to write “Trust No One”.

JP: What’s next for Drica Armstrong?

DA: I am currently finalizing details to join a national book tour with a prominent author. My new novels, “Trust No One” and “Game Over”, will be released in 2013. I am also working on my new novel, “Dearly Beloved,” which should be released in 2014.

“I would like to add that writing was once a hobby but has become a wonderful career. Nothing is more important than keeping my readers happy and always waiting for the next release.” ~ Drica Armstrong
