Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “Dirk Quigby’s Guide to the Afterlife“?
E.E. King: “Dirk Quigby’s Guide to the Afterlife“ was inspired by divine inspiration.
JP: What sets “Dirk Quigby’s Guide to the Afterlife” apart from other books in the same genre?
EEK: “Dirk Quigby’s Guide to the Afterlife“ is a funny, irreverent but factual guide to many afterlives. It’s a mixture of fact and fantasy, fiction and science.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “Dirk Quigby’s Guide to the Afterlife” getting out to the public?
EEK: I am a great public speaker.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Dirk Quigby’s Guide to the Afterlife?
EEK: “Dirk Quigby’s Guide to the Afterlife“ went though many phases. It took years.
JP: What’s next for E.E. King?
E.E. K.: I am teaching at the writer’s conference in San Miguel, MX, Feb. 2013.
Her newest novel, “The Card Game” is being serialized at www.IsotropicFiction.com and will be release online and in print February 2013. Her second anthology of “Shorts, Another Happy Ending” is due for release December 2013. She has contributed to Now Write! , with Piers Anthony, Ramsey Campbell, William Nolan, Ursula K. LeGuin, Larry Niven, Jack Ketchum and Harlan Ellison.

E.E. King is the recipient of various international writing, biology and painting grants. Her murals can be seen in Downtown Los Angeles and Spain. She’s worked with children in Bosnia, crocodiles in Mexico, frogs in Puerto Rico, egrets in Bali, mushrooms in Montana, archaeologists in Spain and planted butterfly gardens in South Central Los Angeles.
