(One of the first ten people to comment on George Hudson’s author interview will win a free copy of Drama.)

(Congratulations Adrienna Turner! She won a free copy of George Hudson’s Drama.)

The drama just doesn’t stop in the lives of Deb, Tammy, and Lisa. Deb, the hard worker and savvy entrepreneur, is blessed with a multimillion dollar contract but has to enjoy the success without the comfort of her man whose fledging music career has him busy from state to state.

Tammy has everything a diva could want: a multimillion dollar home, expensive cars, clothes, jewelry, and what she thought was the perfect fiancee. That was until she found out about the other woman that ultimately tore their lives apart.

The oldest and most reserved Lisa becomes a victim of a scorned lover and is now faced with a baby-daddy dilemma that turns tragic.

In the the lives of the trio, there’s never a dull moment. There’s nothing but DRAMA!

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the idea and inspiration to write Drama?

George Hudson: I was inspired by women-friends and family members that went through experiences similar to the characters in Drama and I put a little twist to it.

Also, I wanted the characters to be successful black women, as our women are often seen in a negative light. I wanted the public to know that our women are victorious, as well as beautiful!

JP: What sets Drama apart from other novels in its genre?

GH: It engages your mind and imagination as you make your way through the story and interact with the characters in the title as the storyline unfolds.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that lead to Drama getting out to the public?

GH: Passion. I am very passionate in my writing, I am dedicated and ambitious. As an author, my goal is to provide fans of urban fiction  and novel readers with nothing but the best of me.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take for you to start and finish Drama?

GH: I use the traditional pen and pad and write every chapter at least three times to ensure perfect quality for my urban fiction reader fans.  It took me about four months to write Drama.

JP: What’s next for George Hudson?

GH: Blocked In is my next novel, and it is about a woman that was exploited when she was younger by her mother who sold her for drugs. As she got older, she took the streets and met the man of her dreams which was a very prominent black man. She hid her past from him.

As their relationship grew, she kept being haunted by her past and she was trying to hide it from her new guy. Then a man from her past is trying to black mail her, which leads to more drama and murder. Also, Kingdom Publishing Service, an affiliate of GSH Publishing.

  1. Great interview Joey. This has my piqued my interest not often to see all the female characters in high regard. I see its based on real woman in his life and real life instants so it seems like we heard this before be interesting to see how George puts some twist on it.

  2. This was a great interview and it shows us drama in true life form it also makes us think when we say I want this or that and then we get it and we think we are living comfortable and how we should live and all is well but that what drama entails this makes us see the drama that we as woman go thru and see the outcome and how strong we are as a people that we go thru and handle it perfectly, and Mr Hudson seems like he has some surprises in store for us with this book I will have this on my TBR list today….

  4. Whoa, ok! That is a lot of drama. But seriously what would like be like without it!? I love stories about women going through real life situations. It makes me feel normal for once!

One another note for the interview, he writes every chapter three times…really?! Something I need to practice. Looking forward to checking out the books.

  5. I would love to read this book…I think it would be very interesting to read a book about women that’s written by a man. And I was also wondering if any writers still used pad and pen…great interview!

  6. That was a good interview Joey! I’m impressed that the main characters weren’t depicted as some under priviliged, gold digger type females. Its important to showcase our women as the beautiful, successful business women that they often are, even in fictional writing. We go through most of the trials and tribulations as any other female, regardless of race. I can’t wait to read George’s spin on the Drama!Kudos on a job well done!

  7. Good interview GH. When asked what makes you write, you respond with what i feel is of most importance: “passion.” This is the driving force both for the author and for the reader as without passion, the reader can (and will) gauge your sincerity for writing in the first place. See you at the top of the world!

…and while you’re there – Tell The World My Name! Joey – get me my free copy so I can add it to my collection!! Peace.

  8. What provokes me to want to read Drama is the author’s claim that his book differs from others in his genre b/c it engages the mind and imagination. I tend to stay away from books in this genre b/c they all seem to be carbon copies of each other. If Mr. Hudson has succeeded in bringing something fresh to the table, then I wouldn’t mind sitting down and biting into a good read. Much success in this and all his future endeavors.
