5 Minutes, 5 Questions With…
King James and Bobby Rodgers, author of Tangled Webs
Tangled Webs is a book written by two unique authors. The first story is called The Perfect Life. This tale is about Rene Carter and two of her closest friends. Rene is a well-respected Baltimore City police officer who is very good at her job. She is married, and her husband is a well-known attorney who loves her dearly and worships the ground she walks on.
Rene is living the perfect life, but she has a dark side. The only people who know her secret are Tonya Lewis and Rhonda Harris who are also police officers. Rhonda resents everything about her and would love to see her fall flat on her face.
The second story is called Imitation. Stacie Sims is an up and coming emergency room physician. She has a loving fiancé named Billy Addams. Billy is the son of a wealthy business man. He is the perfect man for Stacie, but he is hiding a dark secret from her.
So sit back and enjoy the worlds of Rene and Stacie who both quickly learn that life can get tangled like a spider’s web.
Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Tangled Webs?
King James and Bobby Rodgers: We wanted to write a drama-filled story. We had noticed that the females really loved books like that. So we wanted to branch out and do something different.
We both usually write crime novels with police officers and gangsters. Tangled Webs was stepping out of the box for us. The book has two different stories in it that everyone can relate to and enjoy.
JP: What sets Tangled Webs apart from other books in the same genre?
KJ and BR: We don’t think there is another book out there like this one. These stories are totally original, so the reader will get an adventure they never thought they would get.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Tangled Webs getting out to the public?
KJ and BR: We try to use social networks to spread the word and interviews like this also.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Tangled Webs?
KJ and BR: We are both night-owl writers. It took us a few months to write this book. We actually finished a little earlier than expected.
JP: What’s next for King James and Bobby Rodgers?
KJ and BR: We are both working on new projects. Bobby Rodgers has a vampire book called Blood Throughout the Night, which is currently out through Amazon. King James has a new Rashard “Stone” Williams book coming out called Bayou City Blues.
Bobby has a werewolf book coming soon and King James has a female detective novel coming out, which is based in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. So be on the look out for these books. Underground Publishing has all types of new and different books coming out very soon.
I hope people enjoy our books from Underground Publishing.

Tangled Webs is a perfect example of two heads being better than one. For starters, James and Rodgers make a great move by focusing on the end-user before embarking on writing this two-story tome. James writes about cops and Rodgers writes about paranormal items, yet they come together to inject tons of drama into storylines that they know a female audience will gravitate to.
Since they are not new to writing or being published, this is a perfect way to add to their individual catalogues. And they get to cross-promote to each other’s readers. That’s got to be a boost al the way around.
