“9 Orange Roses” chronicles the relentless sexual escapades of a woman whose insatiable sexual appetite leads her into one new experience after another.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “9 Orange Roses”?

Ladi M.: I had gone through a very rough period in my life. I was on the beach looking at the water and contemplating killing myself. Then I saw a rock in the middle of the water, and my imagination took over. Could I swim to the rock, or would I let the water swallow me?

Because I was so shocked with what was in my mind, I decided to stay out of the water and just try to write. When I looked at what I wrote, I again was in shock.

I sent what became “9 Orange Roses” to a friend. He liked what I written and wanted to read some more. As long as he was interested and kept requesting more, I kept writing.

That is how this all started. He suggested that I try to get published in Playboy or Penthouse. I was too scared to try and too amazed at what I had written.

JP: What sets “9 Orange Roses” apart from other books in the same genre?

LM: “9 Orange Roses” is my first book. It is pretty raw around the edges but delivers some mind blowing visuals. It is short and very to the point.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “9 Orange Roses” getting out to the public?

LM: The Keys to Success are believing in yourself, not being confined or worried about what others will think, never giving up, networking, a good and non-judgmental support group and prayer.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish “9 Orange Roses”?

LM: My writing process from now own will differ from the writing process that I used for “9 Orange Roses”. While writing this one, I had the beauty and the sounds of the ocean as my background, and I just wrote the first things that came to mind.

My new process will include pre-thinking the story and actually outlining the story I want to write. It will include me being a lot more detailed in character development

As for this “9 Orange Roses”, I wrote the book in 4 days in 2007. It sat on my computer until 2012. It was at that time that I got up the courage to seek out a publisher for the book.

I always knew I wanted the book to be published but I was scared to believe in myself, but I was worried about what people would think. Age and time helped me get past these two things and go after what I wanted for this story and the other stories that I have yet to write.

JP: What’s next for Ladi M.?

LM: What is next for me is to continue to keep writing stories that people will enjoy. I also want to keep improving my craft, my creativity and my storytelling skills.

“I am excited about this opportunity to write my stories. I really look forward to reader feedback. “9 Orange Roses” is my first, so it is a bit raw and unpolished. But it won’t be my last published story!
