LM: Larry the Alligator: Makes Friends meets children where they are with examples of everyday scenarios and provides encouragement.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Larry the Alligator: Makes Friends getting out to the public?
LM: It is very important to have confidence in your book as well as yourself. That will help you in your daily life as an author to speak about your book to others and self-promote the product.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Larry the Alligator: Makes Friends?
LM: I usually write when the inspiration comes to me and then go with the flow. It took me a week to write Larry the Alligator: Makes Friends, then I revised it and added to the character any missing parts. I made sure that the illustrations matched the feelings and emotions demonstrated throughout the book. However, finding the right illustrator took me two years. The book came out just when it was 100% complete.
JP: What’s next for LaDonna Marie?
LM: I am working on my second devotional in the Quiet Moments with God series to help to inspire others in their daily walk to be positive.
