I basically write about a kingdom, which is majority feline populated. In this kingdom, you have a royal family and we live out their lives with their pals – with trials and tribulations of course. We can’t forget about their rivals, which is a pretty never ending story. With that being said I have created The Purr~Fect Tales Vol. 1-3.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write The Purr~Fect Tales Children Book Series Vol.1 – 3?

NaTasha “MzGrammyBear” Graham: My inspiration came from personally owned pets. I just love cats, especially kittens. All the cats and their kittens I write about are either previously or currently owned pets. household pets by either myself or family members. The main characters were/are my pets.

JP: What sets The Purr~Fect Tales Children Book Series Vol.1 – 3 apart from other books in the same genre?

NMG: I try to stand out with everything. I’ve always stood out whether writing, hair styles or just a simple outfit. In this case, even though my books are called ” The Purr~Fect Tales” and are mainly focused on felines, I try to have a contradistinctive animal every story. So far we have a Parrot, a Squirrel of Jamaican decent, a Latin Chimpanzee and Latin puppies.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to The Purr~Fect Tales Children Book Series Vol.1 – 3 getting out to the public?

NMG: Marketing and great networking! I must say you must market and invest in yourself. If you don’t than who will?! I continuously advertise my books whether it’s via social networking or just a plain ole meet and greet. I can be in a library, supermarket, even my daughters daycare and all it takes is one person to converse and inform of your “masterpieces”.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish The Purr~Fect Tales Children Book Series Vol.1 – 3?

NMG: Must admit didn’t take long at all, would say around 2 months; that’s including all proof reading, edits and so forth. In addition, I have a toddler who sometimes require more attention than usual, but we seem to have worked out a deal.

As far as the process, I just observe my cats and family members cats. Each time they may do a different act or just something outrageous, my mind just began to wonder. My imagination is just a force to be reckoned with.

JP: What’s next for NaTasha “MzGrammyBear” Graham?

NMG: Currently I’m working n my first ever novel, Girl, What the Hell Were U THINKING ?! The anticipated release date, mid March 2011…no later than April 1, 2011. In addition I hope to open my very Book Cafe/ Lounge in the near future.

But can’t forget about my writing. Tales # 4-6 expecting to be released later in the year, also another novel. Actually several, I am creating a part 2 to my first release, and I’m working on a tutorial What Part of the Game Was THAT?!?!. with the grace of my typing skills and of course the man above “GOD” all will be complete and successful.

  1. This was a very insightful interview, Joey. It really forced me to get into the author, as well as the children’s book. Now all I have to do is find a child to buy the book for. Or maybe not, I’ll buy it to support. Good job, Natasha.
