Layla James has fallen passionately in love with Grayson Miles; a handsome man with the charisma to match his looks. The chemistry between the two is ignitable. The fire that lies between them is so tempting that breaking the rules is hotter than maintaining ambiguity.

There is only one obstacle preventing Layla and Grayson from being a couple; Grayson is engaged to Layla’s cousin Sofia. Soon, what’s done in secret comes out in the wash. The devastating emotional aftermath which follows discovery is overwhelming.

The revelation leaves Sofia distraught as she struggles to deal with the infidelity of her fiancé and the added sting that his lover is the one person she loved like a sister.

Psychological torture ensues and brings the emotionally draining experiences to a head. Sophia confronts Layla, and they both discover hidden secrets which are darker than anything they ever could have imagined. The family tree is shaken and uprooted from the core by one dark disclosure after another.

Life becomes even more complicated for those involved in this intricate life triangle. As fate would have it, final options for survival lies in the hands of one person – the woman who was betrayed the most.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “The Monday Night Mistress“?

Pamela D. Rice: Events in the news inspired me to write this latest book. My books are geared towards social ills that people normally do not want to

discuss. “The Monday Night Mistress” is another taboo topic that needs to be brought to the forefront instead of being locked behind closed doors.

JP: What sets The Monday Night Mistress apart from other books in the same genre?

PDR: From the feedback that I have received from others, my books are different because I am not afraid to be controversial. There is no box for me. I believe in putting all of my cards on the table, so that the readers will know that no one is perfect.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to The Monday Night Mistress getting out to the public?

PDR: Social media is a must. You have to get online and interact with others. Don’t just bombard your pages (and everyone else’s) with constant promotion. Be yourself. Allow others to see who you are.

Also, advertising with Joey Pinkney is a must! (Editor’s Note: Although we completely agree, those are Pamela D. Rice’s words, not Joey Pinkney’s.)

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish The Monday Night Mistress?

PDR: I don’t have a tried and true method. If I feel like writing, I write. I may write three thousand words at one sitting and write fifty at the next. It took me a couple of years to write “The Monday Night Mistress” due to personal family problems.

JP: What’s next for Pamela D. Rice?

PDR: I am working on my next book. (I’m taking it through the week). I have a few more ideas in my head…

  1. I am gonna purchase this book it seems so good just from interview and me an avid reader have read authors from Peace In The Storm Publishing and they all write well so I know this is a page turner, I need to now wonder why I do not have books by author because I usually have all of Publishers books.

    1. Pam, and all of the writers at PITS, are tremendously talented and dedicated to bringing the absolute best. I reviewed her first book. And this one has got to be the bomb.
