Vinegar For Bacne: What Does It Do?

Many people are looking for a natural remedy for back acne, hereafter called “bacne”. Did you know you may have the perfect remedy right there in your house? Vinegar.

You might be thinking, “What can vinegar do for bacne?”

Vinegar can actually do a couple of things. Vinegar acts as an astringent. An astringent is a substance that contracts, firms, and strengthens skin and other tissue. Vinegar also dissolves and removes oils, kills bacteria and normalizes the pH balance of the skin. Vinegar lowers the pH level of your skin, making it harder for for bacteria to grow. You have to be careful because the use of soap and vinegar can take your skin through some horrible extremes and make your skin condition worse. So it’s a good idea to put the vinegar on at night, let it sit all night, then wash it off the next morning with a mild soap like baby wash.

How long does it take?

Keep in mind that vinegar is not quick fix. Like most natural remedies, it may take a couple of weeks before you see solid results with your vinegar regimen.

Diluting your vinegar.

I hope you haven’t run to the kitchen before getting to this part of the article and splashed on some vinegar like its Cool Water Cologne. What kind of ratio should you use? I would suggest starting out at 10 parts water to 1 part vinegar. If needed, you might want to slowly move up to 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar for a stronger solution to reach desired results.

That’s not it!

Don’t think that the only way to use vinegar is on the skin. No…you can also drink it and balance your skin’s acne problem from the inside out. How? By simply drinking 2 table spoons of vinegar with a medium-size glass of water three times a day. (You’ll get used to the taste, trust me…) You may see results as soon as 5 days, but it generally takes a little over two weeks for the vinegar to stabilize your body and make your skin smooth and beautiful.

What’s the best kind of vinegar to use?

You should try to find organic, unfiltered, unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar. I’ve also heard good things about Japanese Rice Wine Vinegar.
