Trouble was inspired by actual events. It’s about a girl growing up in Chicago, overcoming sexual molestation, drug dealing and growing up too fast. She learns forgiveness, redemption and how to trust again.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Trouble?

Escape From A Nightmare is a most-unique blend of love, hiphop, and premonition.

The star character, Gabriana, is not your average chick. She is a dreamer. She has dreams of living the good life on her terms, and then, there are the “other” dreams – the disturbing omens that come while sleeping, whispering the conflict of everything. That’s a problem…and that’s where it all starts.

Not only does the dreams crack at her sanity, they also speak horrible warnings concerning her newly famed boyfriend Scholar; the one whom she worships like he’s a god. She literally bows down to this guy. He is her everything – until Gabriana meets Khali Simone.

That’s when the rollercoaster jumps the track, and it gets crazy. This is a beautiful and closely real urban story about one woman’s heartache behind the dark side of love, hiphop, fear and premonition – and ultimately the fate behind it all! This book is a page-turner for everyone.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Escape From A Nightmare?

Stephanie Acon: I wrote this book specifically as a means to reach my generation – the lost generation. When I was out here as a female emcee Continue reading 5 Minutes, 5 Questions With… Stephanie Acon, author of Escape from a Nightmare

(NBP Publishing)

The Reflection in the Mirror is an inspirational book designed for women of all ages who suffer from low self-esteem and low self-image. Often times, this problem starts from a young age, usually pre-teen years, when acceptance is sought from our parents, our peers, and society in general. When identity cannot be found in the right place, a person will go through life seeking validation in all of the wrong places and that leads to constant disappointment.

Using the serenity prayer as a model, I offer a solution to this problem by helping the reader build confidence by understanding what their purpose is in life and discovering their true identity. My goal is for every woman to be able to walk with her held high regardless of what she looks like or what her “design” is.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write The Reflection In The Mirror?

Nykee Parker: As a child, I was constantly teased by classmates over various physical features and so I thought I was ugly. I felt like I had no Continue reading 5 Minutes, 5 Questions With… Nykee Parker, author of The Reflection In The Mirror
