Joint or separate accounts? Who should manage marital money? What happens if one spouse brings debt into the marriage? Should a bride-to-be pay her fiancé’s bills?

These questions and over 70 more are answered in Bride and Groom Money Talk FAQ, thereby providing brides and grooms with guidance on the importance of beginning this conversation, what to ask and how to address money during their engagement. Engaged couples will also learn how to handle parents, in-laws, self-employment and even budgeting.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Bride and Groom Money Talk FAQ?

Dr. Taffy Wagner: A few years ago, I created an audio program for engaged couples that taught them about money and marriage, yet it seem as if it was too much in their face. I stepped back and looked at what was constantly happening. I’d get these questions about money before getting married.

I decided a frequently asked questions book would appear less threatening, and brides or grooms could read it in the comfort of their own home individually. Furthermore, at a later time they could come together and talk about it.

JP: What sets Bride and Groom Money Talk FAQ apart from other books in the same genre?

TW: It targets brides and grooms on a “taboo” topic that most will not even touch until after they have said “I Do”. It prepares them and gives them some guidance on the Who, What, When and Why about Money during their engagement.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Bride and Groom Money Talk FAQ getting out to the public?

TW: Determination and Commitment to a topic that many fear even discussing whether single, newlywed or married for a long time. Another key is my willingness to share my personal experience to include the mistakes that can help someone avoid making those same choices is crucial when talking on such a topic.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Bride and Groom Money Talk FAQ?

TW: My writing process is simple: I only write when inspired. I don’t try to force the words and messages that need to come out on paper. I wait until I am inspired.

It only took me one month to write Bride and Groom Money Talk FAQ. With edits and cover design, it ended up being about 5 months. I stopped everything else that was on my schedule – radio shows, blogging for others, etc. in order to devote the time to the message.

JP: What’s next for Dr. Taffy Wagner?

TW: I’m in the midst of the last leg of a two month virtual book tour.

I will be conducting teleseminars on money beginning in March for those already married and couples who are entering into remarriage. Retaping some of my money and marriage videos.
