Mike Jefferies, author of A Life for a Life 2
(Wahida Clark Presents)

“A Life for a Life Part 2: The Ultimate Reality”, is where you will finally get the full meaning of “A Life For A Life.” Drako ups his own label, Reality Records, and of course his artist and RedRum’s roster are at each other’s throats!

Drako has a few more schemes to finish and Wiz is into even more industry scandal. More cars, cash, and beautiful women fill this tale, which hopefully won’t be the thing to blind them because there are still traitors waiting to bring them down harder than either of them could ever imagine.

It’s the mind-boggling, fast conclusion that Hip-Hop Fiction has been waiting for. You won’t want to miss it!

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “A Life for a Life 2“?

Mike Jefferies: Again, it came to me easily with the love I have for Hip-Hop. And after the response I got on “A Life For A Life”, I went hard. I just thought of a few more relevant characters and issues surrounding the lifestyle and moved forward in “A Life for a Life 2”.

JP: What sets “A Life for a Life 2” apart from other books in the same genre?

MJ: “A Life for a Life 2” is closer to Hip-Hop than anything I’ve ever read. The main character gives you a vivid glimpse into the life of a music mogul and Drako’s white collar schemes are a different look from the usual Urban Street Lit plots.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “A Life for a Life 2” getting out to the public?

MJ: I just concentrate on completing a page-turner from start to finish. Come up with a great story and the world is going to talk about it. Also stay on-line with the reader and don’t be afraid to give away sample chapters or excerpts. Fiction is a gift that keeps on giving. You’ll always find more. And more than anything, I have true faith. I just believe in my dreams.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish “A Life for a Life 2“?

MJ: I come up with a concept, and then settle on a goal for my character to reach. Often, I write the first chapter which always comes to me in the form of a great vision. Next, I do my best to think the story through. Which usually fuels me to write the ending. Then finally, I go back from the start and bridge the gap in between.

I try to be a structured writer for the most part, but the craft will allow you plenty of time to use your intuitive gifts along the way with description, dialogue, and a crazy imagination to further the story and solve problems. It is my belief if you have a good beginning and relevant subject matter, the story will eventually propel itself.

It took me three months to write “A Life For A Life”, and two months to write “A Life for a Life 2”. Two to three months is usually what I give myself to complete a good first draft. Once I’m convinced that I have a plot large enough for a complete novel, I chase the story out of my head – six to twelve or thirteen hour days sometimes until I reach climax.

I love what I do. It’s pure passion for me.

JP: What’s next for Mike Jefferies?

MJ: More great tales! I already have several titles ready to follow the “Life For A Life” series. The next series that I’m most excited about is an erotic thriller I’ve just completed. It’s a fast-paced, two-book series and the perfect blend of Erotica meets Thriller. I’d have to say it’s the first of its kind too. Its concept is authentic and once you start, you can’t stop! You can always look forward to new releases from me. I’m a constant work-in-progress.

Yes, my aim is simply to keep fiction fun, just as it was intended to be. I drop good jewels along the way but my hope is to make you smile as you discover how my character got away with that. If you’re looking for a fun read, then look me up.

In conclusion, I hope that if you enjoy “A Life for a Life 2”. You’ll share the smile and positivity with a friend. Drop me a review on Amazon.com. Send out a tweet because by all means a great story deserves to be told. Thanks for all of your support, and I promise more gripping stories with every tale I write.
