5 Minutes, 5 Questions With…
NeNe Capri, author of The Pussy Trap
(Wahida Clark Presents Publishing)
They say if you leave an enemy breathing they rise up and take revenge. Kayson, a big time dealer in New York, got his come-up early in the game by killing anybody he had to on his way to the top. Anxiously waiting for fifteen years to get revenge, an opportunity finally presents itself when his right-hand man Aldeen introduces him to KoKo.
KoKo is a boss in her own right and down for whatever. When the offer is placed on the table to work with the top man, she accepts. Kayson carefully trained KoKo to be his best angel of death. With a score needing to be settled, it will be KoKo who will not only seduce and trap Kayson’s enemy, but she will also end up stumbling upon an enemy of her own.
Will the trap Kayson sets for his enemy quench his thirst for revenge or will the power of the pussy prove to be his own downfall? The Pussy Trap is a dramatic web full of sex, greed, power and payback.
Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write The Pussy Trap?
NeNe Capri: I was inspired by Wahida Clark’s novel Sleeping with the Enemy. I wanted the book to have a sequel. She was done with it, so I came up with a concept. However, a book written by me could not hold the title Wahida Clark.
She offered me a contract contingent upon if I could make the story stand in the ranks of her approval. With that, my pen began blazing the pages as the voices of the characters begged to be heard. Thus, the concept of The Pussy Trap became a reality.
JP: What sets The Pussy Trap apart from other books in the same genre?
NC: First, there is nothing new under the sun. It is only the way you tell the story that will make it uniquely yours. However, I have been told that I have those pen-gasms. (LOL)
I’ve also been told that my female character KoKo is one to whom there is no comparison. Having a strong female character that displays fearless calculated moves and is not afraid to bust her gun sets her apart from other female characters.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to The Pussy Trap getting out to the public?
NC: Wahida Clark has a work ethic that is both innovative and demanding. Following in her foot steps of success brings success to the whole team. We have a high standard at WCP. Therefore, a formula is in place that guarantees success.
Having loyal, real readers supporting your work is the heart of the whole organization. We are only as strong as our fan base, and we give them what they want.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish The Pussy Trap?
NC: I have a very unorthodox method of writing. I think in scenes. I never know the beginning or ending of the book. I create characters and let them speak. I name them, turn up my music, close my eyes, fantasize and give birth to what I can only hope will be greatness.
JP: What’s next for NeNe Capri?
NC: I am currently working on the sequel to The Pussy Trap. I also have two more books that I am writing. My original passion is poetry. In the future, I plan to put that out so the world can feel my heart beat. (LOL)
Besides that, I am a law student. That is the main focus and becoming a lawyer is my passion. I set high goals for myself, and the only thing that can stop me is death. I thank Mr. Pinkney for his time and attention to my work and wish him all the success he desires. The pen is the limit.

Any and all blessings that I receive comes from the most high whom strengthens me. I have a beautiful daughter and supportive family. Without them, I would be nothing. I was once told, “Plan your work, stay wise, and work your plan.” (R.I.P Hakim love you). At the end of the day when it’s all said and done, “I left my heart on the page.”
Thank you, NeNe Capri…
