5 Minutes, 5 Questions With…
Author T.Real, author of HOMICIDE CITY
My book is about the decisions we make in life based on the the fast life of sex, money and power. Three stories are being told in one. The life of a stripper who’s trying to find her way in life. A corrupt cop who’s hell bent on absolute power stuck in between two worlds. And a rapper who wants to get out of the streets and conquer the hip-hop world. Also, two detectives who have to solve each crime that happens in the three stories.
Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write HOMICIDE CITY?
Author T.Real: My inspiration came from life as a whole. Some of the stories are fact-based but broken down in a fictionalized way.
JP: What sets HOMICIDE CITY apart from other books in the same genre?
TR: What sets my book apart is how I tell my story.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to HOMICIDE CITY getting out to the public?
TR: The keys to my success was heavy promotion on social media networks and stepping out in the streets passing out flyer letting the public know I have a book out.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish HOMICIDE CITY?
TR: First, I come up with a title and subject to write about. I outline my characters and then the whole story chapter for chapter. My debut Homicide City took me thirty days to complete.
JP: What’s next for Author T.Real?
TR: Wow! That’s a great question. I don’t see myself as just an urban author. I wrote a play called Right Man Wrong Time which is almost in production. I also I have two treatments for the graphic novel industry. I wrote a children’s book.
