JoeyPinkney.com Exclusive Interview
5 Minutes, 5 Questions With…
Terrie Lynn, author of Sisters Stop Asking Sisters, I’m a Black Man, Just Ask Me
(Cool Girl Publishing)
It’s a real, tell-tale book about why Black men leave their wives, cheat, date white women, abandon their children etc… I interviewed 50+ men over a period of months to introduce women to the POV of men… for a better understanding.
Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Sisters Stop Asking Sisters, I’m a Black Man, Just Ask Me?
Terrie Lynn: From myself and all of my girlfriends. I got tired of having talks about not knowing what we did to mess things up. Why he left, why he doesn’t want to committed, etc… So I decided to go to the source!
JP: What sets Sisters Stop Asking Sisters, I’m a Black Man, Just Ask Me apart from other books in the same genre?
TL: I’m a woman, but I wrote from (and favored) the man’s point of view. This ruffles feathers. After my research, I identified that women are really confused.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Sisters Stop Asking Sisters, I’m a Black Man, Just Ask Me getting out to the public?
TL: Success has come from my will to get the message out and being social. I now enjoy being a relationship panelist, magazine features, featured on radio shows, etc..
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish Sisters Stop Asking Sisters, I’m a Black Man, Just Ask Me?
TL: My curiosity started everything. The process was surprisingly easy. As long as I didn’t use their real names, the men were overflowing with information. I interviewed the subjects over a period of several months.
JP: What’s next for Terrie Lynn?
TL: My second book What You Think You Know, You Don’t is for sale as well. It’s about the teen-pregnancy epidemic.

Sounds like a good reference book. Woman have to know that sometimes your girlfriends will tell you what you want to hear, instead of telling you what you need to hear.
I think it’s very interesting that she took it to the streets and asked men questions that women had an answer for.
This book is definitely insightful.
Thank you, Joyce!
I read her book. I found it interesting, because she took view points from different men, not just one man’s point of view. Some guys points were a trip. But that’s the real world.
