5 Minutes, 5 Questions With…
April Rencher, author of Love Pain & Ecstasy

The main character, Brooke, is juggling her social life and school, but she has the typical hormonal issues any young adult has. From there, she blossoms into a scavenger for intimacy, lust and love. She sometimes finds it, but she manages to get herself in compromising positions figuratively and literally. It deals with the disappointment, embarrassment, heartaches, laughter, joy and consequences of relationships and love in life. There is a light to the end of the tunnel.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Love Pain & Ecstasy?

April Rencher: I wanted to write novels that are real and raw on the feelings and actions of a beginning sexual connoisseur. Love Pain & Ecstasy is a coming-of-age erotic novel where young women can relate to right now or middle-aged women can reminiscence about when this happened to them.

It is a mixture of my own experiences with fantasies that could realistically happen. I want it to be a trilogy. I want the book to be a quick read on a Thursday night that would want to make someone make passionate love to their spouse, their friend with benefits, or their one-night stand that night or next day.

JP: What sets Love Pain & Ecstasy apart from other books in the same genre?

AR: We all want to be whisked away while reading any book, but we could also start by embracing real-life experiences. I think I captured that with my vivid descriptions in Love Pain & Ecstasy.

I made ordinary experiences of sex turn into visual, breathtaking scenes of passion and sexual freedom. I also make light of crazy tales that could honestly happen to anyone. I feel like I have a story that anyone could relate to and should be shared with others.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to Love Pain & Ecstasy getting out to the public?

AR: It is definitely about connecting to the right audience on social media. Without my platforms, no one know except a handful of people.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process?

AR: It is about doing a timeline for when I want it done and an outline of the book. If I can’t write sexually, I skip that scene and keep writing.

JP: What’s next for April Rencher?

AR: I have some radio interviews and hopefully a fourth book coming soon.
