April Rencher, author of Love Pain & Ecstasy

The main character, Brooke, is juggling her social life and school, but she has the typical hormonal issues any young adult has. From there, she blossoms into a scavenger for intimacy, lust and love. She sometimes finds it, but she manages to get herself in compromising positions figuratively and literally. It deals with the disappointment, embarrassment, heartaches, laughter, joy and consequences of relationships and love in life. There is a light to the end of the tunnel.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Love Pain & Ecstasy?

April Rencher: I wanted to write novels that are real and raw on the feelings and actions of a beginning sexual connoisseur. Love Pain & Ecstasy is a coming-of-age erotic novel where young women can relate to right now or middle-aged women can reminiscence about when this happened to them. Pastor Daniel Winston served as the pastor of a large church in an urban community. A single man who longed to find a wife stayed in prayer asking God to bless him. When their hands touched, he experienced a spark that would ignite a fire in his heart so deep, he almost became blind to her issues and couldn’t determine if he was trying to help her or himself. But when God is involved, nothing is as it seems and with His plans, the road to redemption may be rough, but the results so fulfilling.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write Broken Spirit?

Rose Jackson-Beavers: My inspiration to write Broken Spirit came from hearing negative stories about pastors. When I read the newspapers, I always read about the negative things clergymen were doing in the church and how their actions hurt many of their congregants. It seemed like the focus wouldn’t be on the positive things that Leaders did, but rather on the poor decisions that the minority made.
