Pierre-André François is the most popular soccer player in Haitian history. He has a well-kept secret; he is the feared Haitian assassin, known as The Little Rose. He kills with style and finesse, like a famous painter who brushes with endless strokes of red, and signs his work with a rose.

After he assassinates a popular Haitian senator, The Little Rose finds himself the hunted by an unknown psychopathic killer. The assassin has always been confident in his deadly skills, until he faces the machete-carrying killer.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “The Deadly Rose, An Assassin’s Tale”?

J.M. Lominy: I have always had a love for history. After visiting Haiti in 2001, I rekindled my love for the country and its rich history. It was this love of history that inspired the writing of “The Deadly Rose, An Assassin’s Tale”.

JP: What sets “The Deadly Rose, An Assassin’s Tale” apart from other books in the same genre?

J.M. Lominy: The uniqueness of “The Deadly Rose, An Assassin’s Tale” is, it takes place in 1957 Haiti. Although, it is a historical thriller, it has a strong element of family, religion and some politics.

Scandalous things occur in the plot that readers can associate with. It is written in a fabulous poetic form which many readers have found to be refreshing. The main character is the antihero the reader comes to love.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “The Deadly Rose, An Assassin’s Tale” getting out to the public?

J.M. Lominy: I believe unconditionally in my success, whether that success comes from one happy reader or thousands. I am not ashamed to seek help in learning how to be a better writer, marketer and publisher.

I am dedicated to quality and will go above and beyond to produce a work that is not only entertaining but educational. To accomplish this, I surround myself with qualified professionals.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish “The Deadly Rose, An Assassin’s Tale”?

J.M. Lominy: I write daily, starting at 4AM. The development of my characters and plot is an ongoing process throughout my day. I write mentally while doing other activities, until I can find pen and paper to jot it down.

“The Deadly Rose, An Assassin’s Tale” was my first book, and I maintained a long work week. It took me close to five years to complete “The Deadly Rose, An Assassin’s Tale”. Now that I understand the process, it should take me less than a year to produce a book.

JP: What’s next for J.M. Lominy?

J.M. Lominy: I have many more fabulous stories to share. I always tell readers how I have ten books lined up ready to be written. What makes me excited about all these future books is, they are all interrelated in some form or fashion.

I’m currently working on book two, which is the sequel to “The Deadly Rose, An Assassin’s Tale”.
