Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “Theresa in Wonderland”?
Dominique Wilkins: There is a message I wanted to get across to my readers: just because a person does one good deed, does not overshadow that they are capable of doing 10 bad ones. This is something that must be treated accordingly because people fall victim to this everyday.
There were other messages in “Theresa in Wonderland”, that I wanted to put on people’s mind that are important in today’s world.
JP: What sets “Theresa in Wonderland” apart from other books in the same genre?
DW: I write in a biblical, inspirational tone with an urban fiction twist. In my books, I try reach people who go through real crap, but want out. My books don’t always have happy endings, but they are extremely relatable.
JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that led to “Theresa in Wonderland” getting out to the public?
DW: I am passionate about my books and their messages. My passion is genuine, and I believe that when you are passionate about something that is also good and necessary, people will catch the excitement and spread it.
JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take you to start and finish “Theresa in Wonderland”?
DW: My books are all short stories. I write my books when I feel the most passionate about a topic and don’t stop until I’ve gotten it all out. If I don’t feel strongly about a subject, I won’t write or force it. If I do, I am sure my readers will notice it.
I don’t want my readers to ever think I just put something together. I always want them to my reasons for writing the books that I publish. Otherwise, what’s the purpose of losing sleep trying to write them?
Including life’s interruptions, such as work and family, it takes about 2-3 days to finish my book at the most.
JP: What’s next for Dominique Wilkins?
DW: I pray I will have a story for EVERYONE in the world to identify with. That way, people have the opportunity to enjoy just one, or purchase them in a collection.
Right now, I have The Fighting Forgiveness, Being Better, The Imperfect Parent, Realm of Regret and the Selfish Syndrome Collection to choose from.

“I believe that we often cannot solve our own problems. But maybe, when they’re put into a story in someone else’s shoes, they can then be seen and solved more easily. I’ve written over 15 short stories for you to enjoy. I have received great 5 star reviews for many of my titles, such as “Theresa in Wonderland”, “7:10”, “The Bad Parent”, “I’ll ALWAYS Love My Mama”, “Forgiven. Not Forgotten.” and many more!” ~ Dominique Wilkins
