5 Minutes, 5 Questions With… Inez Reilly, author of Convenant

JoeyPinkney.com Exclusive Interview
5 Minutes, 5 Questions With…
Inez Reilly, author of Covenant
(Sadie Books)

A spellbinding debut of a novel series, Covenant explores the lives of a circle of families, friends and loved ones. A modern fictional account set in Virginia, Covenant affords readers to witness triumphs, failures, insecurities, hopes, dreams, losses and other thought-provoking elements that connect to readers’ lives.

From the vantage points of parents, friends, children, lovers, strangers and more, Covenant reveals various decisions we face as adults as we attempt to find the meaning of our lives, or justify the lack of meaning.

In Covenant, Inez has written a completely mesmerizing tale that will keep you rooting for, gasping at and praying for, characters as they journey through relationships that define, destroy and strengthen them, all the while working to maintain the sanctity of their circles.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the idea and inspiration to write Covenant?

Inez Reilly: The state of society is what prompted Covenant. There are so many marriages ending in divorce, parents abusing their children and friends betraying friends. I wanted to inspire people with characters that committed to each other and relationships.

JP: What sets Covenant apart from other novels in its genre?

IR: Covenant speaks to the heart of the reader and gives him or her the tools to stand strong in the commitment he or she has made with a partner, all while being an entertaining piece of work.

JP: As an author, what are the keys to your success that lead to Covenant getting out to the public?

IR: The keys are Bullhorn Gypsy, which handles my media relations by getting my message to the public, thus allowing me to focus on writing instead of administration. Bullhorn Gypsy handles my marketing, schedules, web site, brand identity and more.

JP: As an author, what is your writing process? How long did it take for you to start and finish Covenant?

IR: First, I get the main idea in my head. The next step is to get the first paragraph completed. Research is next and continues to the end of the book. After the bulk of the research is completed, I sit down and write. Covenant took just over a year to complete.

JP: What’s next for Inez R. Reilly?

IR: At the moment, I am working on my second non-fiction book, my fourth book, entitled Blood Dipped. I am, also, developing the plot for my fifth book, Like A Roaring Lion.
