Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write The Darkside Trilogy?

William Hayashi: I wanted to write a story about the kinds of Black people I grew up with; educated, middle and upper middle class, with mostly two-parent households; the kind of Blacks that don’t exist in today’s American culture. I only met Sebastian Peréy in person on one occasion, but that was enough for him to make a lasting and indelible impression. I’ll never forget that day. Even though it happened many, many years ago, it still lingers as fresh in my mind as if it were only yesterday.

“There is a Miracle in 21: God Completes” is designed to encourage, inspire and motivate others by sharing my struggles. It’s a book of HOPE! Simply stated, “It is my therapy with God”.

Whether I’m sharing feelings of inadequacy, confessing faults, or sharing words of encouragement, I do it to glorify God. I know that if God is glorified, He will ensure the book reaches those who need its message.

Joey Pinkney: Where did you get the inspiration to write “There Is A Miracle in 21: God Completes”?

Lorieen D. Henry: My inspiration came from my desire to change/improve. I didn’t want to continue the cycle of madness. I was spiraling because I was discontent after leaving a successful military career. I knew it was time to leave, but I wasn’t content with the changes that God had allowed.
